Hermès Drawn to Craft Festival, creative workshop in Vondelpark

From June 4 to 7, the Vondelpark will transform into a playful meeting place where creativity, imagination and encounter are central. With the free event Hermès, Drawn to Craft: putting pencils to paper the iconic French fashion house invites everyone to discover the power of drawing. Everyone is welcome.

Drawing has long been the common thread within Hermès creations. During this special four-day course, the focus is not on technical perfection, but on the pleasure of making. Far from academic rules and traditional drawing classes, it is all about spontaneous lines, unexpected ideas and sharing creativity with others.

A temporary creative playground is springing up in the middle of Vondelpark with a characteristic caravan workshop, drawing tables and easels freely accessible to visitors. Here you can take a seat whenever you want, pick up a pencil and let your imagination run wild. The event invites you to step out of the daily hustle and bustle and rediscover how relaxing and connecting drawing can be.

In addition to the open studios, Hermès offers an extensive program of interactive activities. For example, you can participate in workshops such as drawing yoga, where movement and creativity come together, or join a podcast and radio session where makers and artists share their stories. There is also plenty of room for young visitors to discover with special reading and drawing sessions for children.

“Sometimes the most beautiful creation begins not with a plan, but with a single line on a blank sheet of paper.”

What makes Drawn to Craft special is its approachable atmosphere. No experience is necessary and no one has to be able to do anything. The event is all about curiosity, fun and bringing people together around one of the most universal forms of expression: the line on paper. It is precisely this accessibility that makes the festival a surprising cultural addition to Amsterdam's summer agenda.

Anyone walking through Vondelpark in the coming days would do well to stop in. Chances are you'll leave with a drawing, a smile and maybe even a rediscovered love for pencil and paper.
